ABOUT US

Vision

A future where every child, family, and resident can explore, play, learn, and thrive through accessible parks, recreation programs, and community activities.

The Greene County Parks & Recreation Foundation was born from a simple but important conversation between Justin Bullock (Director of GCPR 2021-2026), Sarah Baran, and Megan Meyers. Together, they shared a vision for how the community could help strengthen and expand recreation opportunities beyond what public funding alone can provide. Recognizing the tremendous value that parks, programs, trails, events, and recreational spaces bring to residents of all ages, they saw an opportunity to create a dedicated organization that could engage community members, businesses, and supporters in investing in the future of recreation in Greene County.

The Foundation was established in 2025 to help remove barriers to participation, increase access to recreation opportunities, support special projects and enhancements, and provide resources that extend beyond county budget limitations. Most importantly, it was created to build a lasting legacy of recreation in Greene County, one that ensures future generations have access to vibrant parks, meaningful programs, and community spaces that promote health, connection, and quality of life for all.

The Parks and Recreation Foundation is dedicated to supporting Greene County Parks and Recreation programs. Our foundation aims to enhance the community's access to recreational activities and promote the well-being of residents. We are committed to providing resources and assistance to ensure that our parks and recreational facilities are well-maintained and accessible to all.

OUR INITIATIVES
